Garden Trains Add Holiday Magic To Popular Local Family Event

The Charles Paddock Zoo in Atascadero, CA was alive with the holiday spirit as families and friends celebrated the annual “Holiday Magic” event, with animals offered wrapped “gifts” filled with food and other enriching items. This popular holiday occasion was even more magical again this season with the return of a CCCGRS constructed and operated garden railroad inside the zoo. Zoo Director, Alan Baker, commented “the train was again the most popular feature of the event” for zoo guests.

This year, the magic continues through the first of the new year, as CCCGRS volunteers will operate their own trains on the layout each weekend until Sunday, 06-Jan-2019. Visitors are encouraged to come each weekend, as the display will take on different characteristics with various visiting locomotives and rolling stock.

CCCGRS members interested in operating their equipment on the layout should get on the schedule by sending a message to contact@cccgrs.org.

We think sharing our hobby with zoo guests and staff is a great way to celebrate the conclusion of an incredible year of garden railroading on the central California coast, and usher in an even better year in 2019. We look forward to seeing you soon!
