DESCRIPTION:In conjunction with the Central Coast Railroad Festival (CCRRF)\, the Central California Coast Garden Railroad Society (CCCGRS) invites our community and visitors to learn more about the creative hobby of large scale model railroading. On Saturday only\, our group will operate an outdoor display at the San Luis Obispo Railroad Museum featuring the trains and scenery that are always popular with our young guests: the circus train and circus big top! A few surprise trains are sure to join the fun. Stop by the San Luis Obispo Railroad Museum and say “All Aboard” to our hosts during this limited time display. \n \nBut there is more! Exclusively for Central Coast Railroad Festival participants\, several garden railroads operating at our members homes will open for public viewing throughout the 3-day festival. SUMMARY:Cascade Peak & Buena Vista Railway Open Day
DESCRIPTION:In conjunction with the 2021 Central Coast Railroad Festival\, we welcome festival participants to an open day at the Cascade Peak & Buena Vista Railway. A Disney Parks inspired garden railway\, the Cascade Peak & Buena Vista Railway will never truly be finished\, but the Main Street Trolley\, perimeter loop\, and Mine Train through the Living Desert are now complete and operating. Placeholders exist so visitors may visualize future additions. \nThis garden railroad covers 2\,300 square feet. The “grand circle tour” loop comprises 275 feet of the total 365 feet mainline. Locomotives and rolling stock collected from Denver and Rio Grande Western still operate under that historic herald on this tourist destination line. \nOur guests are encouraged to explore the sights\, scenes and sounds of the miniature landscape. The closer you look\, the more you see. We look forward to your visit! \n

DESCRIPTION:The Central Coast Railroad Festival (CCRRF) is a broad based festival which focuses on railroading of many types with an eye towards the beauty of the central coast of California. \nThe Festival is designed to attract the attention of avid and casual rail fans as well as curious folks from across the Western United States. It presents historical\, educational and recreational events for local citizens\, the area’s large population of second home owners and visitors. The visibility of all local rail entities as well as railroading in general is elevated and enhanced by the Festival. A cooperative spirit is developed among all participating organizations to promote their mutual well being and to expand interest in all things rail!

DESCRIPTION:This is the annual sale event that should not be missed by anyone interested in large scale model railroads. \nNew\, pre-owned and one-of-a-kind large scale model railroad equipment and accessories will be available. If you are looking for something specific\, we suggest calling in advance to confirm availability. \nThis year\, see the Wandering Railroad. Visit one-on-one with representatives from various garden railroad manufacturers\, including Bachmann\, LGB and PIKO America. \nTehachapi is only a 3 hour scenic drive from the central coast. While in town\, make sure to visit the historic Tehachapi Depot. A visit to Kohnen’s Authentic German Bakery will never disappoint. If you are interested in seeing the world famous Tehachapi Loop along your journey\, take a detour off CA-58 onto Woodford Tehachapi Road for the best views and historic markers.
