SUMMARY:102. Cementina Family Railroad
DESCRIPTION:Deer Creek is a village from the 1900’s in the California Sierra Mountains. Activity at the station\, a bluegrass band and a wedding at the chapel are a few of the vignettes you will discover. The layout was created in honor of Dennis Cementina who passed away in 2022. Rachel\, who grew up enjoying her Dad’s garden railroad in two previous homes\, really wanted the guests at her wedding in this backyard to enjoy the garden railroad Dennis had planned but was not able to execute. Thanks to the time and talent from the CCCGRS\, the track was laid. Rachel’s uncle from San Diego and Uncle Joe from Tennessee added the finishing touches that bring the layout to life. We look forward to seeing those of you who can stop by to take a look.

SUMMARY:101. Conejo & Tortuga Railroad
DESCRIPTION:The Conejo and Tortuga Railroad is a free-lance designed layout of approximately 270 ft consisting of a large mountain and a distinctly mid 20’s western ghost town inspired by the movie “Rango”. The layout has recently undergone some major changes and additions such as the replacement of 10 feet of underground tunnel structure and addition of a spur line to a silver mine. The railroad is battery-powered only and operated using the Revolution 2.4GHz Train Engineer Transmitter and Revolution 2.4GHz On Board Receivers. All turnouts and turntable are hand operated. SUMMARY:100. Rileyville Railroad
DESCRIPTION:The Rileyville Railroad is named after our dog Riley\, an 11-year-old Catahoula Leopard Hound. The 4-year-old railroad is improving with time. The railroad was created from our imagination. It does not represent a specific time or era but encompasses traits we find interesting in the hobby. It covers 550 sq. ft. and has a 220-ft. main line with 40 ft. of sidings. The layout features a 20 ft. long\, 20-inch-high curved trestle\, 8-ft.-long tunnel\, Engine Yard\, Rileyville Station\, Farm\, Rare Rock Mine\, Cemetery\, and a new Whimsical Giant Sea Shell Shop. Our scratch building improves with each project. We think we represent what Garden Railroading is all about: running trains\, having fun with likeminded people and sharing our passion with others. \nSee a detailed description of the Rileyville Railroad here.

Founded by ranch co-owner Rob Rossi\, the Pacific Coast Railroad follows a narrow-gauge loop around the ranch headquarters\, offering wide-open views of the surrounding meadows and mountains. \nThe Pacific Coast Railroad honors the historic role of railroads in the development of Santa Margarita and the Central Coast. The PCRR is available for charter at weddings and special events\, as well as occasional public events. \nThe railroad includes three locomotives\, as well as four 5/8 scale passenger coaches from the Santa Fe & Disneyland Railroad dating back to the 1950s. This is a must-see railroad!

SUMMARY:Monarch & Sand Railroad Train Run
DESCRIPTION:Will and Lucinda invite everyone to return to the Monarch & Sand Railroad for our May train run. Our hosts have completed an extensive renovation of their Arroyo Grande outdoor living space\, which included significant changes to the garden railroad. The main line now only supports battery powered locomotives. Scenes include an outdoor circus and farm operations. A separate\, powered “flyer” track brings egg-liners and other small equipment above the action with a 6” height restriction and 2-foot radius curves. Another 5-foot radius circle of powered track will be set-up for the occasion. \nLight refreshments and drinks will be served. Shaded areas are adjacent to the home\, so train operators are encouraged to prepare for sun. We look forward to greeting you all this month in Arroyo Grande. \nThe Monarch & Sand is one of fifteen railroads featured as part of the July 2023 NGRC Post-Convention Tour. \n

DESCRIPTION:Bernie and Vicki Meister will graciously open the Conejo & Tortuga Railroad for our April train run. Their layout will only accommodate battery powered trains. They encourage you to bring a train to operate on the layout extension installed in 2022. Avoid bringing long rolling stock the line extension has an 8 ft radius.  There is lots of room & plenty of shade. The residence sits well off the street down a fairly long driveway with parking for around 12 cars and\, of course\, street parking as well. Bernie and Vicki look forward to seeing a lot of train enthusiasts. \nThe Conejo & Tortuga Railroad will be one of several central coast garden railroads open to the public in July during the 2023 Post-Convention Layout Tour.

DESCRIPTION:Welcome to Rileyville! Jim and Donna Williams will host our first train run of the 2023 season at their North County Rileyville Railroad. The garden railroad was rebuilt from November 2021 through February 2022. Since then\, the Williams have continued to make additions and fine tune the miniature landscape. SUMMARY:Mountain View Railroad Open Day
DESCRIPTION:Nestled in the Santa Ynez Valley\, with a sweeping vista of the Figueroa and Grass Mountains\, lies a garden railroad where working G-gauge model trains navigate through sculpted miniature forests to delight the child within. Meandering through the walkways surrounded by 700 dwarf Alberta spruce and redwood trees\, a visitor is transported into a Disneyesque environment with miniature trains making their way through forests\, over bridges\, by custom-built buildings and around a koi pond\, with whistles signaling their passage. Don has a life-size caboose\, which he built himself. It houses an authentic caboose seat\, which holds a huge\, serenading animatronic bear. In the garden stands a line shack that also was designed and built by Morgan with the help of his gardener. It is constructed out of uneven wood planks\, and it is a favorite spot for the Morgans to sit and take in the expansive view\, both of the mountains and of the garden railway. Trains are battery and track powered. Don has a railroad lamp and lantern collection plus an operating wigwag and Griswold crossing devices.

SUMMARY:Cascade Peak & Buena Vista Railway Open Day
DESCRIPTION:In conjunction with the 2022 Central Coast Railroad Festival\, we welcome festival participants to an open day at the Cascade Peak & Buena Vista Railway. A Disney Parks inspired garden railway\, the Cascade Peak & Buena Vista Railway will never truly be finished\, but the Main Street Trolley\, perimeter loop\, and Mine Train through the Living Desert are now complete and operating. Placeholders exist so visitors may visualize future additions. \nThis garden railroad covers 2\,300 square feet. The “grand circle tour” loop comprises 275 feet of the total 365 feet mainline. Locomotives and rolling stock collected from Denver and Rio Grande Western still operate under that historic herald on this tourist destination line. \nOur guests are encouraged to explore the sights\, scenes and sounds of the miniature landscape. The closer you look\, the more you see. We look forward to your visit!
