SUMMARY:Best of the West Antique Equipment Show
DESCRIPTION:Get an up-close and hands-on look at antique equipment\, including: tractors\, engines\, cars\, steam trains\, airplanes and much more. Hosted at the historic Santa Margarita Ranch\, this unique event is fun for the whole family! Learn about manufacturing and operations of farm equipment; from modern-day tractors to 1800’s steam engines. There is a tractor parade twice a day\, and at 12 noon a salute to our armed forces with an airplane fly over. Don’t forget to take a tour of the ranch aboard the authentic steam engine train\, complete with passenger cars originally from Disneyland.

DESCRIPTION:Join us for our May open house. Our track is battery only. Feel free to bring a train & try our new line extension. Avoid bringing long rolling stock the line extension has a 8 ft radius.  We’ll be serving finger sandwiches\, salad and chips. Plenty of soft drinks & water will be available and of course a few sweets to top it off. There is lots of room & plenty of shade. Our lot sits well off the street down a fairly long driveway with parking for around 12 cars and of course street parking as well. We look forward to seeing a lot of train enthusiasts.

DESCRIPTION:Welcome aboard\, the Cascade Peak & Buena Vista Railway. This Disney Parks inspired garden railroad is located only 4 miles east of Santa Margarita. The CP&BV Ry hosts open days for the general public as part of the annual Central California Railroad Festival. During this Train Run event\, guests are encouraged to bring their battery\, DCC and DC track powered large scale trains to operate on the line. This is also a perfect time of year to view spring wildflowers found in abundance in the surrounding area.

Several of our members have been designing a point-to-point layout for battery-powered trains to move holiday treats from the factory to the eager children enjoying the festivities. \nJoin us for set-up from 8-10:00 AM or any time after to say “Merry Christmas.”

The festivities will begin at the Cascade Peak & Buena Vista Railway in Santa Margarita. Mark and Michelle Edwards have added holiday touches to their garden railroad with new scenes\, sounds and lights to add sparkle to your holiday spirit. \nEnjoy warm drinks and seasonal treats around the fire while the miniature landscape comes to life. Everyone is invited to bring your favorite holiday treat for a holiday treat exchange with friends. At 6:00 PM\, the party will move to Rosalina’s in downtown Santa Margarita where the owners will welcome our group for dinner. \nPlease RSVP before 15-Dec to contact@cccgrs.org\, so we can inform our hosts with the number of guests.

SUMMARY:Cascade Peak & Buena Vista Railway Open Day
DESCRIPTION:In conjunction with the 2021 Central Coast Railroad Festival\, we welcome festival participants to an open day at the Cascade Peak & Buena Vista Railway. A Disney Parks inspired garden railway\, the Cascade Peak & Buena Vista Railway will never truly be finished\, but the Main Street Trolley\, perimeter loop\, and Mine Train through the Living Desert are now complete and operating. Placeholders exist so visitors may visualize future additions. \nThis garden railroad covers 2\,300 square feet. The “grand circle tour” loop comprises 275 feet of the total 365 feet mainline. Locomotives and rolling stock collected from Denver and Rio Grande Western still operate under that historic herald on this tourist destination line. \nOur guests are encouraged to explore the sights\, scenes and sounds of the miniature landscape. The closer you look\, the more you see. We look forward to your visit!

Other narrow and standard gauge locomotives will be on display during the event. Return visitors will notice the construction of a large expansion to the existing layout.
