SUMMARY:99. Pacific Coast Railroad
DESCRIPTION:Like a magical vision from a bygone era\, the steam-powered Pacific Coast Railroad never fails to enchant visitors to Santa Margarita Ranch. Founded by ranch co-owner Rob Rossi\, the Pacific Coast Railroad follows a narrow-gauge loop around the ranch headquarters\, offering wide-open views of the surrounding meadows and mountains. \nThe Pacific Coast Railroad honors the historic role of railroads in the development of Santa Margarita and the Central Coast. The PCRR is available for charter at weddings and special events\, as well as occasional public events. \nThe railroad includes three locomotives\, as well as four 5/8 scale passenger coaches from the Santa Fe & Disneyland Railroad dating back to the 1950s. This is a must-see railroad!

SUMMARY:100. Rileyville Railroad
DESCRIPTION:The Rileyville Railroad is named after our dog Riley\, an 11-year-old Catahoula Leopard Hound. The 4-year-old railroad is improving with time. The railroad was created from our imagination. It does not represent a specific time or era but encompasses traits we find interesting in the hobby. It covers 550 sq. ft. and has a 220-ft. main line with 40 ft. of sidings. The layout features a 20 ft. long\, 20-inch-high curved trestle\, 8-ft.-long tunnel\, Engine Yard\, Rileyville Station\, Farm\, Rare Rock Mine\, Cemetery\, and a new Whimsical Giant Sea Shell Shop. Our scratch building improves with each project. We think we represent what Garden Railroading is all about: running trains\, having fun with likeminded people and sharing our passion with others. \nSee a detailed description of the Rileyville Railroad here.

SUMMARY:101. Conejo & Tortuga Railroad
DESCRIPTION:The Conejo and Tortuga Railroad is a free-lance designed layout of approximately 270 ft consisting of a large mountain and a distinctly mid 20’s western ghost town inspired by the movie “Rango”. The layout has recently undergone some major changes and additions such as the replacement of 10 feet of underground tunnel structure and addition of a spur line to a silver mine. The railroad is battery-powered only and operated using the Revolution 2.4GHz Train Engineer Transmitter and Revolution 2.4GHz On Board Receivers. All turnouts and turntable are hand operated. Welcome Aboard. \nSee a detailed description of the Conejo and Tortuga Railroad here.

SUMMARY:102. Cementina Family Railroad
DESCRIPTION:Deer Creek is a village from the 1900’s in the California Sierra Mountains. Activity at the station\, a bluegrass band and a wedding at the chapel are a few of the vignettes you will discover. The layout was created in honor of Dennis Cementina who passed away in 2022. Rachel\, who grew up enjoying her Dad’s garden railroad in two previous homes\, really wanted the guests at her wedding in this backyard to enjoy the garden railroad Dennis had planned but was not able to execute. Thanks to the time and talent from the CCCGRS\, the track was laid. Rachel’s uncle from San Diego and Uncle Joe from Tennessee added the finishing touches that bring the layout to life. We look forward to seeing those of you who can stop by to take a look.

SUMMARY:103. Cascade Peak and Buena Vista Railway
DESCRIPTION:The inspiration for our central California garden railway is the “Happiest Place On Earth.” Not one you might visit today\, but one you knew growing up – or might have known if plans had developed as intended. This freelance 2300 sq. ft. layout is sighted above a “counter height” retaining wall.  Denver and Rio Grande Western (LGB) rolling stock still operate under that historic herald on this tourist destination line.  As with most projects of this scope\, ours will never truly be finished\, but the Main Street Trolley (50 ft.)\, perimeter loop (365 ft.)\, and Mine Train around through Nature’s Wonderland (100 ft.) are now complete. We invite you to preview these lands\, in the hope you will return and share the excitement as our story unfolds. \nSee a detailed description of the Cascade Peak and Buena Vista Railway here.

SUMMARY:104. M & M on Main Street Railroad
DESCRIPTION:The M & M on Main Street Railroad consists of a large irregular shaped oval with approximately 225 ft. of track divided into a single main with three by-pass tracks. Minimum and maximum radius of the curves are 2 ½ ft. and 3 ft.\, respectively.  Several scratch-built structures\, including houses\, movie theater and retail shops have been added to honor their 14 grandchildren\, 4 children and their spouses. Each engine is battery powered and radio controlled. To accommodate the various elevation of the yard\, there are two\, not yet complete\, (but functional)\, trestle loops\, and a ten-foot bridge.

SUMMARY:109. Orcutt & Islay Creek Railroad
DESCRIPTION:The Orcutt & Islay Creek Railroad in Santa Maria\, California is one of the longest\, continuous operating garden railroads on the central coast. This “could have happened” railroad is modeled in the spirit of the Pacific Coast Railway\, a 3-ft. narrow gauge railway that connected Port Hartford to Los Olivos via San Luis Obispo and other communities. The railroad is designed specifically to accommodate the unique needs of live steam locomotives and their consists. Thoughtful planning and construction allow easy roadbed and track maintenance\, and continuous accessibility to rolling stock in motion. Kit and kit-bashed structures are gradually being replaced with scratch-built features\, many of which include lighting and other effects.

SUMMARY:114. Carolwood Bitter Creek Southern
DESCRIPTION:The Carolwood Bitter Creek Southern Railroad is a free-lance layout under construction with approximately 50 ft of LGB track completed. The outer loop is a dog bone and inner loop a circle for a trolley or speeder. This  elevated railroad will be extended 200 feet along the 3-foot-high retaining wall. Many structures were salvaged from a “fallen” railroad and will need some paint and re-shingling. Some of the structures give it the “Old West” motif. The railroad is currently track-powered but will also have AirWire controlled battery power later. All turnouts are hand throw. Part 2 expansion is a scaled copy of the Walt Disney Barn to add a suspended oval of track(s) around the ceiling.  “Disney” Barn will be open to see work in progress.

SUMMARY:98. Halter Ranch Railroad – Adelaida Pacific Vineyard Route
DESCRIPTION:It was a lifelong dream of owner Hansjorg Wyss to ride on the trains in Switzerland where he grew up\, but as a child his family could not afford it. But now he is making that dream a reality for guests visiting Halter Ranch Vineyard and Winery. The rolling stock roster currently includes 3 locomotives\, 8 passenger cars\, 1 caboose\, 2 flat cars and a ballast car. Currently the route covers 3.25 miles of 15-inch gauge track\, that is strategically placed to highlight the beauty of the estate. Trains transport guests past many highlights on the property\, including pilot cottages\, for those who fly into the winery and stay the night\, multiple ponds\, some that feature a catch and release fishing\, olive groves\, vineyards\, you travel across a Swiss inspired covered bridge and through train tunnels. We welcome convention delegates to experience this one-of-a-kind estate on the Central California Coast. \nGuests visiting the railroad are requested to arrive at the Halter Ranch Winery tasting room. Inform one of the wine hosts you are here to visit the railroad as part of the convention. The wine host will provide you with a detailed map directing you to the train map and associated parking.

SUMMARY:113. San Luis Obispo Railroad Museum
DESCRIPTION:Modelers from the Central Coast Model Railroad group will greet convention delegates during their weekly working session at the San Luis Obispo Railroad Museum. Since 2013\, the group has been building a historically accurate and realistic 1200 square foot HO-scale model train layout. The model depicts railroad operations on the Central Coast of California during the 1950s\, when railroad operations were at their peak. A model of a steam locomotive on the Pacific Coast Railway is featured in a detailed scene representing Avila Beach and Port Harford\, known today as Port San Luis. Rolling stock commonly seen in San Luis Obispo county after World War II are also featured on the layout.

Cascade Peak & Buena Vista Railway

SUMMARY:109. Orcutt & Islay Railroad
