M&S Railroad On-Track For Completion

The hobby of garden railroading is limited only by one’s creativity. Each CCCGRS members’ railroad is unique. Gaining access to this diversity, talent and wealth of experience is one of the many benefits of being a part of CCCGRS.

NECESSITY WAS MOST DEFINITELY THE MOTHER OF INVENTION FOR THIS INSPIRED GARDEN RAILROAD LAYOUT DESIGN.

Mark and Sheila Goodman have created another unique perspective on the garden railroad concept with their latest incarnation of the M&S Railroad. Necessity was most definitely the mother of invention for this inspired garden railroad layout design.

Sheila and Mark welcomed two new dogs into their Santa Maria family. The dogs were afforded a spacious and secure backyard to enjoy the outdoors; however, the dogs might not have realized their impact on the scale landscape and trackwork of the previous M&S Railroad. Thus, the need for a new roadbed that was compatible with the needs of every member of the Goodman family.

You have been following the project construction for the past few months. The images below illustrate the vision maturing to reality. Track is being laid. Gazebos and other creature comforts installed. We are look forward to documenting the first operating session at the new M&S Railroad to share that special occasion with you here.

Track work designed for operating sessions is positioned on top of the outdoor benchwork which is covered with Thermoplastic Polyolefin (TPO), a single-ply membrane roofing material (M. Goodman, image)
